San Diego Local Membership Meeting and Dinner

Please join your fellow SAG-AFTRA San Diego Local members for the San Diego Local Membership Meeting and Dinner.

Members will have the opportunity to learn and ask questions of elected representatives and staff. The event will start with the membership meeting, followed by dinner. A cash bar will be open to members.

The SAG-AFTRA San Diego and San Francisco-Northern California Locals will be conducting Wages & Working Conditions (W&W) meetings in preparation for the negotiation of the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract and the SAG-AFTRA Audio Commercials Contract (collectively, the “Commercials Contracts”) which expire on March 31, 2025.

Proposals for this negotiation are developed through the involvement of members like you. Make your voice heard and participate in this very important process. Meetings are open to all paid-up SAG-AFTRA members*

RSVP: Meetings will be by Zoom. RSVP below (you must be logged in to RSVP). You will receive a reply from commercials2025@sagaftra.org with a link to electronically sign the required confidentiality agreement. 

The Zoom link will be included with your registration reply. You  must have a Zoom account that identifies you by name to participate.

If you cannot attend a W&W meeting or caucus, please make sure your voice is heard. You may submit proposal recommendations by email at commercials2025@sagaftra.org. Recommendations must be received by Thursday, November 14, 2024.

About Mark Teschner

Mark Teschner, a native New Yorker, has been the casting director for ABC Daytime's "General Hospital" since 1989. Renowned for his exceptional eye for talent, Rolling Stone calls him "an actor's casting director," and TV Guide praises his "unparalleled track record for finding top new talent." Teschner has won eleven Emmy Awards for "Outstanding Achievement in Casting" and eight additional nominations. He is also a seven-time recipient of the prestigious Artios Award from the Casting Society of America, with sixteen additional nominations. Teschner has served as vice president of the Casting Society of America and as a Governor of the Television Academy. This year, he was inducted into the "Silver Circle" at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.

San Diego Local Photo Opportunity!

Join San Diego Local members and other members attending Comic-Con for a group photo in front of the Gaslamp Quarter Sign at the intersection of 5th Ave and L Street at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 26.  We will take a quick photo together so please be on time. Wear your SAG-AFTRA and SAG-AFTRA Strong swag if you have it!

About Rich Varville

Rich Varville is a San Diego based filmmaker and recording artist that gained notoriety from his unique style of story-based, cinematic, music films. In addition, he produces and directs narrative, industrial, and documentary films through his company RSVP FILMS.

Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, he studied media production at Pikes Peak College before relocating to San Diego and studying psychology at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. These two very different studies eventually led to his vision of creating thought provoking films that illustrate the human condition.

About Dylan Mooney: Dylan Mooney has been a professional actor for nearly 17 years and is currently recurring on the BET+ TV show The Family Business and just wrapped supporting roles on two feature films, The Comic Shop & Persona which will be released later this year. In addition to working as a professional actor, Mooney is currently an instructor at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute (faculty page), where he has been teaching 'The Business of Acting' for the past several years, which is part of their graduate program. Mooney also teaches the same course, The Biz of Acting 6-Week Course, privately online. He is the VP of Content Development for Glass Slipper Pictures, a distribution and production company. Lastly, Mooney is the proud founder of the Actor Trade App (IG) which has been featured in Variety magazine and the Los Angeles Business Journal.
