Certified Alexander Technique instructor Katie Beckvold reminded SAG-AFTRA New England Local members to “keep it simple” at the March 19 conservatory event, Alexander for Artists: The Truth Discovered in the Voice.

The Alexander Technique provides a way to discover the ease of movement and thought throughout one’s daily routine. Known for its simplicity and practicality, it is often used to improve balance, support and coordination. Beckvold, a classically trained singer and voice teacher, incorporated activities into the class and addressed breathing, posture and tension to help ease the translation of information from the body to the mind and vice versa.
