On April 28, members of the Arizona-Utah Local met at the American Federation of Musicians building in Phoenix, where Local President Joe Corcoran welcomed everyone, thanked board volunteers for their service and introduced new Director of Locals Administration Lisha Brock.
National Board member Margie Ghigo updated members with important information about the union’s efforts regarding sexual harassment, the new availability of direct deposit for TV/Theatrical residuals, tips for using the SAG-AFTRA app and the modernized SAG-AFTRA website, launching soon.
Brock presented information about the nationwide campaign to organize more commercials work and encouraged members to report any non-union ads to adsgounion@sagaftra.org. She also encouraged members to share their stories online through Show Us Your Card and to stay up to date with relevant union communications by keeping their membership information current.
After lunch, the meeting was opened to industry guests for a presentation on the new Arizona-Utah Regional Commercials Code, which offer affordable rates and less paperwork. Ample swag and numerous helpful handouts on the various topics covered were provided at the meeting.
