I know it’s cliche, but we are indeed in uncharted waters and unprecedented times. This is the first time for many of us, as members of SAG-AFTRA, to embark on a strike.

What does it mean to strike? What CAN we strike? And being in a local/state that doesn’t have struck companies and/or productions, what CAN we do to engage and support our union? I know many of you saw the rally in New York at Times Square, and my goodness was it exciting and exhilarating AND energizing! It made ME want to do something right away, but what? There are parameters, there are legalities, there are rules that we must follow to ensure the best outcome for our union! Be on the lookout for subsequent communications surrounding the strike and what we can do to show further support in the DFW Local. In the meantime, check out the amazing pictures and press coverage from our Dallas solidarity rally

Our photo op on July 20, and our strike solidarity rally on Sept. 9 were just the beginning of this ride. Boots on the ground, signs in the air. I believe we will come out on the other side of this stronger and more united than ever!
