Hello, My Fellow SAG-AFTRA Members!
In the midst of the WGA Strike and the approval of our own strike authorization, I am happy to bring you good news for the state of Louisiana and surrounding area. Due to the tireless efforts of the Louisiana Film & Entertainment Association (particularly LFEA President Trey Burvant), our tax incentives are secure until the year 2031! That means eight more years of uninterrupted and unchallenged opportunity for us all! Thank you for all of your support in these efforts, as I’m sure most, if not all of you, sent petitions to our legislators in the process. Let’s be ready to gear up in a few years to extend the sunset even further! And to make sure you’re getting incentive news firsthand, you can join LFEA for free.
In addition, I’m excited about our upcoming event, the Crescent City Connection/Member Orientation on Tuesday, June 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Uptown New Orleans. Hosts Rhonda Laizer, a Local Communications Committee member, and Director of Locals Administration Lisha Brock have organized an exciting night in which veteran and new members alike can learn all about our union! It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with other members while getting to understand your union better.
You must RSVP to attend by June 21, so don’t wait! Here’s a link you can use to do so.
Feel free to share the link with your SAG-AFTRA friends!
