Self-Tape Auditions & Interviews for Low Budget Entertainment Contracts

Los Angeles members, there is now a self-tape auditions and interviews limit for low-budget entertainment contracts. 

While self-tape auditions and interviews have become more common, providing opportunities that previously did not exist, SAG-AFTRA believes that appropriate and adequate measures are necessary to protect its members. The limit is now five standard pages for first-round self-tape auditions and interviews for low-budget entertainment contracts. 

The current contracts impacted include:

• Short Project Agreement (SPA)
• Ultra Low Budget Agreement (UPA)
• Moderate Low Budget Agreement (MPA)
• Low Budget Theatrical Agreement (LBA)
• Independent New Media Agreement
• Independent Special New Media Agreement

SAG-AFTRA continues to pursue these parameters in various ways, including through collective bargaining.
