A Message From the Seattle Local President

As president of the SAG-AFTRA Seattle Local, it is my pleasure to welcome you!

We proudly represent actors, performers, stunt performers, voiceover actors and broadcasters — among the 160,000 professionals who, as we like to say, entertain and inform the world.

This is meant to be a forum to keep you informed about what your local is doing for you. And, just as important, to let you know how you can make SAG-AFTRA stronger still.

We were able to show our might during the historic SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical/Streaming strike in 2023. More people know the name SAG-AFTRA than ever before. And that is all due to you, your dedication, your belief in the mission, your active participation in this union.

We want SAG-AFTRA to be an integral part of your work life, your “union partner,” as you do these jobs that we love. We welcome all ideas on issues and topics on which you want more information. We look forward to hosting seminars, get-togethers, happy hours, and coffee/tea klatches to exchange ideas and develop friendships and relationships that can help us grow. If you have any ideas or would like to serve on our local committees, please reach out to Local staff at seattle@sagaftra.org.

We come to this work with a unique set of skills and an unmatched passion. It is work many have wanted to do all their lives and would likely do for free. That is why SAG-AFTRA is an imperative. We MUST be paid, because our work helps earn the billions our employers rake in.

We have a new Facebook page! Please like and follow it for up-to-date information from the union. Our annual membership meeting and holiday party will be held on Dec. 14. I look forward to seeing you there.
