Pilot season is one of the most important, yet complex, times of the year for television performers. To shed light on the pilot season process, Members Organizing Volunteer Efforts (MOVE) Los Angeles Committee hosted a panel, Pilot Season: Another Year, Another Opportunity for Greatness, on Nov. 17 at the AFM Local 47 in Los Angeles. Industry insiders outlined exactly what goes on at all levels of pilot season, from casting, contracts and talent representation to the performer’s perspective. Moderated by MOVE L.A. Committee member Tohoru Masamune, panelists included SAG-AFTRA National Director of TV Contracts Beth Millman, talent manager Liz York, SAG-AFTRA Young Performers Committee National Chair Elizabeth McLaughlin, SAG-AFTRA Diversity Advisory Committee Chair Jason George, Casting Director Patrick Baca and SAG-AFTRA L.A. Local Board member Patrick Fabian.
