Nashville Local President Letter

I want to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a joyous holiday season.

What a year of historic change this has been for SAG-AFTRA! I’m proud to have represented you on the negotiating committee, and it’s an honor to now serve you on the standing committee for this new contract. We’ve made some pretty incredible gains in the new 2023 TV/Theatrical/Streaming contract that will improve the working lives of our members for years to come. Our membership stood shoulder to shoulder supporting not just ourselves, but also for the benefit of our sister union, the WGA. In solidarity we united on the picket lines and during strike rallies in a meaningful way.

In the coming year, don’t be surprised if you get a phone call from me or one of our Nashville Local board members. We’re eager to hear from you about how you’d like to see us make positive change right here in our own backyard, and we want to include you in our plans every step of the way. 

Also, if you know a SAG-AFTRA member living in our region, but represented by another local, please encourage them to become a part of the Nashville Local. Numbers do make a difference.  I will reach out again next year with more information on what’s happening locally, and I hope you will take the opportunity to reach out to me as well. My door is always open. I look forward to talking with you when I begin making calls after the first of the year.
