To obtain blanket national coverage of stand-ins and photo doubles by arranging a vote of those who have done this work so as to be added to the bargaining unit.
ATIONAL STAND-IN/PHOTO DOUBLE COVERAGE
WHEREAS Stand Ins/Photo Doubles often commit to full seasons or films, sometimes working five days a week for twelve or more hours a day without contracts or benefits, for barely more than minimum wage in many areas, and
WHEREAS it is the goal of any union to include as many workers as possible in any bargaining unit, and
WHEREAS there are certain procedures that must be followed to add members to an existing bargaining unit, and
WHEREAS stand-ins/photo doubles in TV/Theatrical productions represent a small enough number of unique individuals to be relatively easily identified and contacted for purposes of a unit election,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that SAG-AFTRA shall undertake the effort to identify, poll, and organize all performers who have done TV/Theatrical stand-in/photo double work in non-background-covered Locals for the purpose of adding stand-ins/photo doubles to the bargaining unit across the country, in accordance with federal law and Department of Labor guidelines and policies.
