Every year during the legislative session, IATSE Local 480 hosts Film & TV Day. It’s a great opportunity for SAG-AFTRA to promote our brand, to network with related industry professionals and — most importantly — to meet with legislators to discuss important bills that will benefit our members and strengthen the film industry in New Mexico. This year’s big day was on Feb. 25, and the focus was on improving the film incentives, a proven inducement for bringing production to the state.

Another part of the yearly “battle” is the fight against so-called “right-to-work” (i.e., anti-worker) legislation. With the support of key legislators, New Mexico is making headway in deflating the efforts to weaken unions and worker protections.

For those who couldn’t make it this time, please join us for Film & TV Day 2020 and for other important events throughout the year. Make your voices heard!
