Portland Kicks Off March with Back-to-Back Events

The Portland Local hosted a new member orientation, followed by an audition clinic with Scott Rogers on March 2.

New members met with Local Board members and staff on Saturday morning to get an introduction to SAG-AFTRA, ask questions about membership and learn how to get involved with local committees. In the afternoon, the Portland Conservatory Committee hosted an audition clinic with acting coach and National Board member Scott Rogers. Union and pre-member performers learned best practices for auditioning, including how to break down a script and handle cold readings. Other topics included camera techniques, interacting with casting directors and more.

The local will host another new member orientation at the membership meeting in May, and the Conservatory Committee will be scheduling events throughout the year.
