What are the edit rules in the Upfront Use Packages found in the 2019 Commercials Contracts?

SAG-AFTRA continues to work with the ad industry to develop innovative solutions. To that end, the union has modernized the Commercials Contract by creating flexible Upfront Packages. These Upfront models come with their own editing rules, which we’ve broken down for you in this video.  You’ll learn about the three main types of edits: permitted, paid and unpermitted.  Additionally, in order to help the industry utilize our members in dynamic advertising spots, we have created a simple and straightforward payment structure for addressable advertising.

CSA presents: Native American & Indigenous Actors Town Hall L.A.

Native American & Indigenous Actors, this panel discusses current industry trends, such as the rise of those telling contemporary stories of their own experiences, making it a point to cast natives in non-native roles, and remaining conscious of creating a diverse community of actors within film.

Organizing Supportive Communities

SAG-AFTRA is a strong believer in the fair treatment and compensation of actors in the workplace. Organizing communities has played a huge part in making sure actors are receiving these basic rights, like being paid their fair share on a set. Organizing within acting helps bring actors together, sharing similar values and experiences, and communicating with one another to successfully implement change. These actors work hard and we stand by all SAG-AFTRA members to keep doing what they love each day.
