Notice to New England Local Members - Changes to Base Dues and Initiation Fee

Please be advised that the New England Local Board has voted to increase the initiation fee for the New England Local from the current $1,518 to $1,800. The new local initiation fee of $1,800 will apply to all members who join the NE local on or after April 16, 2015. This information may be shared with prospective members at this time.

Additionally, as you may know, the 2012 SAG-AFTRA Merger Agreement, which was overwhelmingly ratified by members, calls for an automatic annual base dues increase of 2% starting in 2015. As such, effective with the upcoming dues period, which begins on April 16, 2015, annual base dues will be raised from $198.00 to $201.96, a difference of $3.96. Most members will see their semi-annual base dues adjusted from $99.00 to $100.98.

While the constitution also provides for a corresponding automatic increase in the national freelance initiation fee (currently $3000), the National Board voted to maintain this amount for the upcoming fiscal year.
