At the Oct. 3 Chicago Federation of Labor delegates meeting, CFL President Bob Reiter auctioned off two hats and a Mother Jones T-shirt signed by himself and CFL Secretary-Treasurer Don Villar. The CFL pledged to match every $1 raised by $10. The hats each fetched $200, for a total of $4,400.

Then, the bidding started on the T-shirt. It was at $200 when Reiter said that if he could get a bid of $400, the CFL would match with $8,000! So, our very own executive director, Eric Chaudron, reached into his pockets for a $400 bid for a total of $8,400. The T-shirt was sent to the Negotiating Committee for support!

The proceeds were split between the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and the UAW strike fund, with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation receiving $6,400.

Thanks, Eric!
