Nov 16, 2024 - 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM EST

This event will be held in person.

Where: SAG-AFTRA, 1900 Broadway, 5th Fl., New York, NY 10023 (Between 63rd and 64th Streets)

Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Young Performers have a lot to navigate - changing technologies not only impact the way they learn and interact with their peers, but as working professionals, it impacts the way they navigate a constantly changing industry. Join the SAG-AFTRA New York Young Performers Committee for a mentoring workshop about how to remain resilient and adapt to a continually evolving professional environment.

The morning will feature a seminar presented by the Entertainment Community Fund Looking Ahead program on how to handle rejection, followed by a hands-on activity. In the afternoon, young performers will work with Casting Director Robin Carus, for the opportunity to flip the script and learn about what it’s like to sit on the other side of the table with a casting professional.

Parents will have a separate line of programming including a presentation about the stages of child development and information about the young performer provisions and new provisions of the most recently negotiated TV/Theatrical/Streaming Contract.

Breakfast and lunch will be served.

RSVP: Reservations are required and space is limited. Please complete the form below - you must be logged in to access the form. Due to space limitations we can only accommodate one parent or guardian per young performer.  If a parent or guardian is attending with the young performer please include their name on the form below where noted.

This program is made possible by a grant from the SAG-AFTRA – Producers Industry Advancement and Cooperative Fund.

If you would like to request an Americans with Disabilities Act Accommodation, including ASL interpretation, please specify the accommodation you are requesting on the form at least 72 business hours before the event. You will be contacted by a staff person to discuss your request.

This meeting is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing. Unfortunately, no guests allowed. Parents/guardians of younger performers under 18 years old are welcome. PLEASE BRING YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD OR DIGITAL CARD IN THE MEMBER APP (paid through Oct. 31, 2024 or April 30, 2025) FOR ADMITTANCE.
