SAG-AFTRA’s chief financial officer, Arianna Ozzanto, was a finalist in the Education/Nonprofit category at the 2022 CFO Leadership Awards, produced by The Los Angeles Times’ B2B Publishing Team. Ozzanto was acknowledged at an awards ceremony last night at the Beverly Hilton, which highlighted exceptional CFOs for their accomplishments over the last two years and their leadership qualities. SAG-AFTRA extends its congratulations to Ozzanto on this honor.
“I am honored to have been included among such an esteemed group of individuals, but the real honor is to work side by side with the SAG-AFTRA team, from the very top down,” said Ozzanto.
“I am not at all surprised to see Arianna counted among the best CFOs in California. We are extremely fortunate to have her looking out for the fiscal health of our organization, and strategizing for its financial future,” said SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland. “Arianna’s expertise and vision were particularly essential as the union weathered the existential risks that flowed from the initial impacts of the pandemic.”
Starting as a budget analyst at SAG in 2004, Ozzanto quickly rose through the ranks of the Finance team utilizing her strong analytical and problem-solving skills, before being promoted to chief financial officer in 2009.
Responsible for the Accounting, Finance and Payroll departments — and Membership and the Contact Center — she played a pivotal role in the 2012 merger of SAG and AFTRA, leading the integration of financial policies and procedures to form a unified whole.
After that, she turned her focus to keeping the union financially healthy. Her intelligence and diligence meant that when SAG-AFTRA faced one of the biggest financial crises in its history over the past years, it weathered the storm.
Last year, at SAG-AFTRA’s biennial convention, Ozzanto was awarded the George Heller Memorial Award for her extraordinary service to the union and its members.
