SAG-AFTRA was a sponsor of the 61st Annual ICG Publicists Awards on March 8 in Los Angeles. The event, a luncheon, was hosted by the Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild IATSE Local 600 and held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Those in attendance included SAG-AFTRA Vice President, Los Angeles and L.A. Local President Jodi Long and Local Board member Caitlin Dulaney.

Among the award recipients was veteran actor Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: Picard), who accepted the Television Showperson of the Year Award. The award recognizes individuals whose accomplishments in television “best represents that special spirit traditionally defined as showmanship.” Stewart is well-known for several stage, film and television productions, including those belonging to the Star Trek franchise.

Other recipients included publicity teams from Barbie and Ashoka, and the Motion Picture & Television Fund nonprofit, which received the Henri Bollinger Award for Special Merit in honor of its 100-year commitment toward the entertainment community.

A full list of award recipients is available on ICG’s website

The ICG IATSE Local 600 represents 100,000 cinematographers working in film, television, streaming, broadcast and several other industries. The inaugural Publicists Awards Luncheon, held in 1964, has grown to be an event attended by over 800 publicists, press, motion picture and television leaders, and other unions, including SAG-AFTRA.
