The annual event recognized female power players and celebrated the 2024 Mentorship Program graduates.
On Dec. 4, The Hollywood Reporter held its annual Women in Entertainment gala in Los Angeles. The event coincides with the notable trade publication’s yearly Women in Entertainment Power 100 list, which recognizes women leaders and public figures within media and entertainment. SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher was named to the Power list along with other union members.
SAG-AFTRA member Nicole Kidman (Babygirl) received the publication’s highest honor, the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, and member Selena Gomez (Only Murderers in the Building) was awarded the Equity in Entertainment Award.
The ceremony also recognized THR’s Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program participants. Each year, the program pairs female high school students from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles with leading industry professionals. SAG-AFTRA, which remains a proud sponsor of the program, gifted mentees backpacks with school supplies, gift cards and other items. Additionally, the program awards the graduates more than $1 million in university scholarships. The bags were delivered by SAG-AFTRA Chief Communications & Marketing Officer Pamela Greenwalt and Communications & Marketing Executive Director Sheara Reich.
