Our members tasked us with [negotiating] a contract that spoke to the future and would make it easy for people to use, and I have to say that the committee did a beautiful job. The Commercials Contracts [are going to] serve a large body of our membership.
Gabrielle Carteris
SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contracts Negotiating Committee Chair
On April 9, the SAG-AFTRA National Board approved the tentative 2022 Commercial Contracts, which not only contain important gains but, more importantly, introduce payment structures that align with an ever-expanding digital landscape.
This SAG-AFTRA podcast episode takes the first step into delving into the agreements’ newest features. Joining podcast hosts SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair and SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland are International Federation of Actors President and SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contracts Negotiating Committee Chair Gabrielle Carteris and SAG-AFTRA Chief Contracts Officer Ray Rodriguez. Carteris and Rodriguez detail the committee’s behind-the-scenes work and negotiations with the JPC, and together the group discusses the ways the 2022 Commercials Contracts stand to impact the future of union commercial work.
