SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher has been listed on The Hollywood Reporter’s 2023 Women in Entertainment Power 100 list. The annual list recognizes the year’s most impactful female leaders and public figures across entertainment and media.
Drescher’s inclusion comes in recognition of her notable leadership during the union’s TV/Theatrical Strike. On Sep. 8, Drescher was re-elected to a second term as union president amid the nationwide work stoppage, which was resolved two months later, on Nov. 8, following a tentative agreement being reached with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. In her interview with THR, which happened before the 2023 TV/Theatrical Agreement’s ratification, she gave an insider’s view into negotiations with the leadership of AMPTP companies and discussed her future career goals.
Coinciding with the Power 100 list’s release was the annual Women in Entertainment gala in Los Angeles on Dec. 7. During the event, the THR’s Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program Class of 2023 received backpacks with school supplies and other items from the union.
