Iggy Pop Music Showcase, SAGindie Reception and More Highlight Conference Week
LOS ANGELES (March 9, 2016) --- SAG-AFTRA, SAGindie and the SAG-AFTRA Foundation are returning to Austin with an exciting schedule of 2016 South by Southwest (SXSW) events for the interactive, film and music conference.
Highlights include a conversation with Gaby Hoffmann a filmmaker party and the much-anticipated Iggy Pop Showcase.
“It’s important for organizations that advocate on behalf of performers and media professionals to have a presence where creative people congregate. As one of the premier festivals, South by Southwest is an incredible platform for the amazing work being done by creative artists, and we’re proud to be part of this year’s event,” said SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director David White.

Staff from SAGindie and SAG-AFTRA New Media will be available to answer questions and provide information on how independent producers can become a SAG-AFTRA signatory producer in order to utilize the talents of SAG-AFTRA members in their productions.

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation will present A Conversation with Gaby Hoffmann on Sunday, March 13, at 12:30 p.m. in the Austin Convention Center 16AB. Moderated by Austin-based filmmaker Kat Candler, the discussion will span Hoffmann’s career, from early roles in Field of Dreams and Uncle Buck to her present-day performances in Girls and Transparent. In addition, Hoffmann will share valuable insights into her process, the craft and industry.

BMI and SAG-AFTRA Presents: Iggy Pop Showcase
WHEN: Wednesday, March 16, 7 p.m.
WHERE: ACL Live at the Moody Theater, 310 Willie Nelson Blvd.
The concert will be one of the first featuring SAG-AFTRA recording artist members Iggy Pop and Josh Homme, performing their collaboration with a full band, along with classics spanning Pop’s legendary solo career.
The showcase will be open to SXSW Music Badge, Platinum Badge, Artist and Music Wristband holders. Add the BMI and SAG-AFTRA Showcase to your SXSW schedule.
