The room filled with admiration and laughter as actor, producer and director Norman Lloyd took the audience through his life’s journey on Jan. 6 at the SAG Foundation Actors Center. At the age of 100, Lloyd’s career spans roughly eight decades, with appearances in more than 60 films and television shows.

Starting his career in theater, Lloyd joined SAG as a member in 1939 and AFTRA in 1940, and has worked with some of the industry’s most notable names, including Charlie Chaplin, Orson Welles, Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock. Lloyd’s prominent roles include Fry in Saboteur, Bodalink in Limelight, Mr. Nolan in Dead Poets Society, Mr. Letterblair in The Age of Innocence and Dr. Daniel Auschlander on the medical drama St. Elsewhere. He continues working in the industry, with two movies soon to be released, Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck and A Place for Heroes with Paul Sorvino.

Actor and former board member Elliott Gould (M*A*S*H, Oceans 11) moderated the event and led the Q&A session.
