Labor and Community Leaders Join the Fight to Save Local News in Chicago
Local news has been more important than ever in recent weeks, but Chicago journalism is facing an uncertain future. Reporters put their health and safety at risk to tell the stories of how a global pandemic is affecting our city and how protests have roiled the streets of Chicago. Yet during these historic past few months, corporate owners have instituted layoffs and furloughs that leave reporters on the sidelines. These dedicated workers want to do their work, and labor and community leaders want to show their support.
