SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Local Board member and Vice Chair of the Los Angeles Local GAPP Committee Sean Astin joined the San Pedro community on Oct. 1 to bring awareness and support to Proposition 28 by visiting businesses to ask them to place signs in their windows supporting their efforts.
Proposition 28, which will be on the upcoming November ballot in California, would dedicate nearly $1 billion annually to arts and music education in public schools and is accompanied by strong accountability and transparency measures. According to supporters, it would be the largest investment in arts and music education in the country. The proposition would not create any new taxes, and there is no organized opposition to it.
