The nonprofit Screen Actors Guild Foundation is looking for local area performers to help re-establish the BookPALS program. BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) is a unique national literacy program of performers who help children learn to LOVE books by bringing their talents into classrooms, hospitals, libraries, shelters, and other venues. A BookPALS performer typically commits to share the magic of reading on a weekly basis, but there is some flexibility with scheduling. You can learn more about BookPALS by visiting: www.bookpals.net.
Who better to bring the magic of stories to life than YOU?
If you are a performer in the Washington – Mid Atlantic Local area (especially the D.C. metropolitan area), we want to hear from you! Please email Toni-Ann Syncon at toni-ann.syncon@sagaftra.org or call (301) 657-2560 ext. 4869.
Please note: There is no need to reapply if you have already expressed interest in BookPALS from the e-mail sent in April. We recorded your interest and still have information on file.
