On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the SAG-AFTRA New York Singers Committee hosted a Singers Commercials Roundtable in the Ken Howard Boardroom at the SAG-AFTRA office. Members came to hear a presentation by National Director, Commercials and Corporate/Educational & Non-Broadcast Contracts Tracy Hyman about the provisions in the Commercials Contracts that cover the work singers do in advertising spots across all media, most commonly referred to in the industry as “jingles.” After the presentation, attendees discussed the information and talked through how these apply to their experiences working in this field.

“It was wonderful to bring so many of our hardworking members in the singer community together to gain insight into the Commercials Contracts provisions that cover our work,” said Vice President, Recording Artists/Singers and New York Local Board Member Janice Pendarvis. “We’re looking forward to more events for singers to engage with each other and their union about the work they do.”
