Dear Member,
It was an amazing show of strength and solidarity — rain or shine — at this year’s New York City Labor Day Parade and March. Thank you to all of the members who came out to support striking video game workers at the annual celebration of New York City unions — the largest in the nation! I’m asking you today to take action and amplify our message: Video game performers must be protected!
Speaking of taking action, one of the most important ways we engage with our communities and shape our future is to vote. The general election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have a number of important voter deadlines coming up in the next month.
New York residents can check voter registration status, register to vote and request a ballot on the New York State Board of Elections website. The deadline to register in person is Oct. 26, and mail-in registrations must be received by a board of elections on that date as well, so please remember to send in your mail-in registrations ahead of this deadline. Early voting will take place Oct. 26 through Nov. 3.
New Jersey residents, please visit the New Jersey Voter Information Portal for important election information and deadlines. The voter registration deadline for the general election is Oct. 15, and early voting will take place Oct. 26 through Nov. 3.
Connecticut residents can find information on the Connecticut Elections & Voting webpage. The pre-election in person and mail-in voter registration deadline is Oct. 18. Some individuals may be eligible for same-day registration if they meet the noted requirements. Early voting will take place Oct. 21 through Nov. 3.
I hope you will join me in participating in our great American democracy. Happy voting!
Forward together,
Ezra Knight
New York Local President
