Los Angeles and Regional Branches (October 20, 2006)–At its board meeting on Friday, October 20, Screen Actors Guild’s Regional Branch Division elected Steve Fried as the union’s 3rd national vice president. Fried, whose new term will run for one year, remains a national board member until September 2007. This is his third term as 3rd vice president.

“I truly appreciate the support of the Guild’s Regional Branch Division leadership,” said Fried. “One of my biggest priorities during my next term as 3rd national vice president will be working with our new National Executive Director, Doug Allen, and President Alan Rosenberg to strengthen and support all Guild members. The staff of the Regional Branch Division, led by Director of Administration Julie Eisenberg, not only provides support to 25,000 RBD members in the 20 branches but also the large number of Hollywood and NY Division members who work outside their division in the RBD. Together with the 20 branch presidents and 22 RBD national board members, I believe we can achieve a cohesive national board.”

“I congratulate Steve Fried on his re-election and look forward to working with him for another productive year,” Rosenberg said. “Steve has played an instrumental role in unifying the Guild across all branches. He has helped me reach out to our 25,000 RBD members and impress upon them just how significant a robust RBD is to the overall strength of Screen Actors Guild.”
