Character breakdown:

NARRATOR (any age, any gender): Our narrator sets the tone for this character-centered supernatural horror tale. They must convey moments of suspense, terror, human drama, and levity with presence and gravitas to keep listeners engaged.

RIZ (30s, male): He’s determined to enjoy his simple and easygoing life with his husband Owen. He’s playful, romantic and intuitive. He has fond memories of the past and uses nostalgia as a coping mechanism when his future appears to grow more uncertain by the day.

OWEN (30s, male): He’s determined to craft the best future he possibly can for himself and his husband Riz. He’s pragmatic, goal-oriented and analytical. He has a wry sense of humor. He’s so willing to build a perfect future that he’s not above concealing a detail or two about his past.

ELENA (30s, female) - She’s a nervous wreck. She grapples with guilt. Is she or is she not responsible for the horrible events that have surrounded her during her upbringing? Because of these unresolved issues, she stays trapped in an unfulfilling existence, when what she really wants to do is travel the world and act as a positive influence in people’s lives.

PATTON (50s, male) - Patton Ross is an actor who hosts a paranormal documentary show. He carries himself with a poker-faced, avuncular authority. His delivery style is so ominous, it’s almost as if he himself hides an evil nature.

PRITCHARD (late 40s-late 50s, female) - This store clerk marches to the beat of her own drum. She’s curious and joyful. She loves all things macabre: true crime, dead bodies, spiders and supernatural lore. She doesn’t seem afraid, even when her own life is thrown in jeopardy.
