On Sept. 19, Arizona-Utah Local members with an interest in audiobook narration received a comprehensive introduction courtesy of prolific audiobook artist and SAG-AFTRA member Sean Pratt. Held at Verve Studios in Scottsdale, Pratt’s engaging, interactive presentation included an overview of the audiobook industry, tips on the artistic and technical sides of becoming a working audiobook narrator, and resources for finding audiobook work.
A highlight of the event was the opportunity for several lucky attendees to work in the studio’s professional voiceover booth and receive Pratt’s expert feedback on their own narration. A live camera feed enabled all participants to benefit from Pratt’s insightful direction, and the Q&A session that followed left attendees feeling informed, invigorated and well-prepared to move confidently into this rapidly growing industry!
