Dear Member,

Military service presents unique challenges for those who are called to join the different branches of our all-volunteer armed services. From long separations with loved ones to missed family milestones to the loss of a stable and predictable life, members of our military carry an incredible burden. And let’s not forget, they also face potentially life-threatening deployments. Motivated by a sense of duty, America’s service members take on these hardships so that we don’t have to.

Now it’s our turn to give back.

There are many ways we can show our appreciation this Veterans Day. Express your thanks in a public forum, such as a letter to the editor, attend a Veterans Day parade, or go one step farther and send a care package through a charitable organization.

But as SAG-AFTRA members, we have another way to show our gratitude to America’s men and women in uniform: Supporting the USO. It’s a great way to honor those who serve our country and it echoes the long association between our members and this outstanding service organization, going all the way back to World War II. Visit USO.org/SAGAFTRA for details. I hope you will make it an annual tradition.

To our member veterans, thank you. And to those whose loved ones serve, may they remain safe.

We join you all in a solemn observance of Veterans Day.

Strength in unity,

Gabrielle
