The American Rescue Plan is now a reality. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for reaching out to your elected leaders in Washington, D.C., and ensuring that the needs of SAG-AFTRA members were not overlooked.

In delivering help that Americans so desperately need, the Plan also provides assistance that’s particularly important to our members.

Thanks to your advocacy, the Plan includes:

• A $1,400 direct stimulus payment.
• A federal stipend for unemployment insurance of $300 a week through September.
• An extension of the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program, the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, and the Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation program through September.
• A 100% federal subsidy of COBRA premiums for those who lost their work-based health insurance through September.

It is our hope that this relief bill will help in some small way to ease the pain of so many of our SAG-AFTRA members. Let’s all continue to stay COVID-safe so we can help end the pandemic and put this dark chapter behind us. Again, thank you for speaking out on behalf of our fellow members. Your voice matters.
