As you know earlier this year House Bill 62 was filed to repeal the film tax incentive. On Tuesday, May 12, hundreds of your fellow SAG-AFTRA members along with other film professionals gathered at the State House to send a clear message that Films = Jobs! While that message was loudly delivered, more still needs to be done as amendments to the State Senate’s budget were recently filed to end the incentive.

The Senate budget debate begins TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 19. We need you to contact your State Senator NOW.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. EMAIL YOUR STATE SENATOR.  Use the link below to email your State Senator to urge them to oppose amendments 43, 52 and 68 to end the film & TV production incentive.

  2. CALL YOUR STATE SENATOR.
  • Call (855) 982-1714 to be patched thru to your State Senator’s office.
  • Simply follow the voice instructions once you call in.
  • Once connected ask them to oppose amendments 43, 52 and 68 that would end the film & TV production incentives. Tell them FILMS = JOBS in Massachusetts.

SAG-AFTRA is a union that has among its members a diverse group of performers, broadcasters and newscasters. The opposition of these amendments should not be interpreted as a personal statement of opinion by or of any specific member of the union.
