The SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement held the Mastering the Basics of a Home VO Studio livestream on June 9. The webinar covered topics such as equipment needed to get started in voiceover work, the recording process and techniques, and tips for getting booked.

Guest speakers included SAG-AFTRA Voiceover Performers Committee National Chair Keythe Farley, SAG-AFTRA Foundation Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab Audio Engineer & Booth Director Mike Varela, SAG-AFTRA Foundation National Director of Voiceover Programs Aric Shuford and Source Elements co-founder Robert Marshall. President Gabrielle Carteris gave opening remarks and Executive Vice President Rebecca Damon facilitated the presentation and Q&A.

“Work for animation and videogame actors has not slowed down one iota, and as an actor [and] director with 23 years of experience in this business, I know that this industry is not slowing down; it’s only picking up steam,” said Farley.
