On May 20, performers met to participate in the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local background performer wages and working conditions caucus. Performers had a lively discussion and were able to voice their concerns, listen to the experiences of others, brainstorm solutions and compile proposals for the upcoming negotiation of the SAG-AFTRA Television Agreement and the Producer-SAG-AFTRA Codified Basic Agreement. The wages and working conditions process is a critical part of the negotiation process, as it gives union negotiators the tools to understand what matters most to members when evaluating the relative importance of the various proposals on the table.
