WFSB-TV Producers Organize to Join SAG-AFTRA

For the first time in nearly 16 years, a broadcast unit has organized under the jurisdiction of SAG-AFTRA in New England. Off-air staff at WFSB-TV, Hartford-New Haven, voted overwhelmingly to be represented by SAG-AFTRA. Members stayed strong and committed during negotiations. Some even testified before the Connecticut Low Wage Employer Advisory Board in Hartford. As a result, the producers and associate producers of WFSB-TV have come up with a first contract that would give some members a 38–75 percent pay hike.
