SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland spoke at a gathering of more than 1,200 union leaders from 109 countries at the opening of the UNI Global Union’s 6th World Congress in Philadelphia on Aug. 27. The event drew notable leaders, including Sen. Bernie Sanders, AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO President Danny Bauder, SEIU International President Mary Kay Henry, UFCW International President Marc Perrone, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and others.
Crabtree-Ireland expressed appreciation for the support that members of the labor community in the United States and around the world have shown for striking SAG-AFTRA and WGA members.
“Every time you use your voice to speak out and support us in these vital issues, you are helping our members stand strong,” he said.
