YOUR VITA PROGRAM NEEDS YOU!
 
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program of SAG-AFTRA & AEA, located at the Equity Building in NYC is in need of new volunteers to assist with preparation of tax returns and covering the intake desk. They are especially in need of tax preparers.

Over the last few years, the program has lost several tax preparers and intake volunteers. If the program is unable to increase the number of tax preparers, they will be forced to severely cut back on the hours of operation and the number of members they can serve.

The commitment required is a minimum of one 5-hour shift per week for the tax season and occasional shifts throughout the year.

Training is provided for all new volunteers. Tax preparer volunteers must go through a basic tax preparation program and will receive additional training in order to complete returns for members of the performing arts.
