Several SAG-AFTRA Local New England members and staff attended the Jan. 31 winter meeting of the Massachusetts Production Coalition (MPC) held at the Crystal Ballroom in Somerville, Massachusetts. Attendees listened to a powerful panel of local crew and talent, including SAG-AFTRA New England member Naheem Garcia, discuss shooting AppleTV+’s highly anticipated Spirited. One of the largest productions to film in the state over the last several years, the musical comedy relied on a massive scale of set production and lighting design, locations, practical and visual effects, and talent. The evening’s presentation began with an eye-opening, behind-the-scenes visual effects presentation by Boston-based Zero VFX. The MPC provides entertainment industry professionals with advocacy, organizing, networking and educational events.
