In order to apply to become a SAG-AFTRA franchised talent agency, please click the application links below. Your application will be filed with us automatically upon completion/signing, so it does not need to be emailed in and you will receive a fully-executed copy via email for your records.
Please note: potential applicants must have a minimum of one year’s worth of experience in the representation field or satisfy other criteria acceptable to SAG-AFTRA in order to affiliate. SAG-AFTRA also does not franchise in areas where we do not have a franchise structure already in place.
The SAG-AFTRA Professional Representatives Department will begin processing your application as soon as it is received, and all applications will be handled on a first come, first served basis.
** If your State requires a license and / or bond to operate as a talent agency, it is required that copies of these documents are attached to your application. Franchise applications shall not be reviewed until the required (current) license and / or bond is submitted to the Professional Representatives Department, as well as all required documentation, in full. Please note, the words “Management" or "Production” cannot be used as part of the applicant’s business name. Please consult with the Union if this is currently the case. SAG-AFTRA only franchises talent agents, not management concerns. Management companies can inquire about our manager affiliation program and view more information at www.sagaftra.org/managers.
Please also note, SAG-AFTRA reserves the right to reject any applicant which does not satisfy its minimum requirements for affiliation. Applicants cannot have as their business name one which is either identical or reasonably similar to another already-franchised agency, so as to avoid any potential confusion in the marketplace. In such instances, the Union will work with the applicant to reach a mutually acceptable compromise or alternative, if possible. This policy also applies to potential name changes of existing franchised agencies.
