LA Strike Captains! We are excited to invite you to attend a free mindfulness course, hosted by psychiatrist, Mark Levine M.D. This invitation is only open to our LA Strike Captains as of now, so please don’t forward this registration page.

During this course, Dr. Levine will explain the neuroscience and psychology of mindfulness with practical skills to reduce stress, depression and anxiety while enhancing happiness. This live on-line 90 minute session includes neuro-science, psychology, discussion, shared experience, guided meditations and skills practice.

About Mark Levine M.D.
For more than thirty years, Dr. Levine has worked in both clinical and corporate settings teaching people how to reduce stress and enhance well-being. Through his non-profit Mind to Mindful , he teaches and supervises a wide variety of mindfulness based programs for medical staff, clinicians , patients and non-profit organizations.

Please join us for a Lunch and Learn to gain knowledge about how the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and Entertainment Community Fund can assist you during the strike and beyond. Both organizations offer financial assistance and other support to SAG-AFTRA members. Learn how to navigate this process. Pizza will be served. 

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the most comprehensive, educational and state-of-the-art resources to SAG-AFTRA members. The Foundation knows there are ups and downs in the performing arts, and is here for SAG-AFTRA members, in good times and bad. Through their assistance programs, they work to ensure that no performer is alone when times get tough.

The Entertainment Community Fund fosters stability and resiliency, and provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan. Founded in 1882, the Entertainment Community Fund is a national human services organization here to meet the needs of our entertainment community with a unique understanding of the challenges involved in a life in the arts.

A limited number of SAG-AFTRA t-shirts will be available while supplies last for members with a current membership card.

TV Comedy: Booking the Job with Michael D. Cohen

Do you want to add more television comedy credits to your resume? Instructor Michael D. Cohen applies his unique holistic approach to comedy to help you bring your unique truth, aliveness and playfulness to your work. Learn specific techniques for analyzing a scene for comedy, nailing the jokes, tone and pacing, and make acting choices that respect the writers yet make you stand out in the casting session. This is a hands-on workshop in which a few members will be invited from the audience to work on a scene of their choice.

You may bring a comedic monologue or a prepared scene if you wish to volunteer.

Houston Actor’s Workshop With Richard Robichaux

The Houston-Austin Conservatory would like to invite you to a special actor’s workshop with renowned speaker and coach, Richard Robichaux. Join us for an in-depth class that will help you hone your skills and land your next part. All participants will have an opportunity to read on  camera then we will play back your reads and workshop with the group. Material will be provided 2 days prior to the workshop via email so everyone has time to process the material.

About Richard Robichaux: Robichaux's recent work includes Big Shot, Oceans 8 and Where'd You Go, Bernadette. As a speaker, actor and educator, Robichaux has worked with many top programs in the country including Yale, Juilliard, Penn State and UCSD. He is currently the director of The Robichaux Studio, a place for life, art and business coaching in Austin, Texas.

Netflix & SAG-AFTRA Dubbing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training Program

Mar 10, 2023 - 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM PST

Where: Burbank, CA

Netflix and SAG-AFTRA are partnering on a series of in-person workshops aimed at helping to build a pipeline of diverse talent with live-action dubbing experience. The Los Angeles-based workshops will be held in a local recording studio and participants will be given hands-on instruction recording scenes with experienced dubbing creative leads. 

Enrollment is free and available slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited to 15 participants and five (5) waitlist spots. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Register below. You must be logged in to see the registration form. 

SAG-AFTRA will collect registration data for the workshop(s), however the program is administered, funded, and managed by Netflix.  

Ideal participants are professional performers with some voiceover experience, but limited to no prior dubbing experience, who are interested in learning more about live-action dubbing and pursuing work opportunities in this area.

ADA accommodations will be provided upon request but must be solicited via email to Netflix no less than 72 hours prior to the workshop(s).

All travel and expenses are the sole responsibility of workshop participants.

COVID-19 Protocols

Please note that these protocols are subject to change based on a variety of factors, including community transmission, local and state requirements. Participants will be expected to adhere to all onsite COVID protocols at the dubbing facility. Please note that Roundabout Entertainment is a SAG-AFTRA approved dubbing facility for COVID compliance. Testing: Pre-workshop COVID testing is NOT required. If a participant chooses to self-test and tests positive, the participant should stay home and reschedule for a later session. Masking: Masks will be available onsite and are recommended inside the facility, except for individuals who are recording alone inside the booth. Participants are encouraged to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, and socially distance whenever possible. If feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms of illness, please  stay home and reschedule for a later date.
