It was standing room only at the Alamo Ritz Cinema in Austin, as SAG-AFTRA Houston-Austin Local members, industry guests and friends walked the red carpet at this year’s SAG Awards local viewing party on Jan. 19. SAG Awards Viewing Party Committee Co-Chairs Laura Koons and DJ Morrison organized the watch party and Local President Mykle McCoslin hosted.

During the evening, Ceejay Joseph, the newest member of the Houston-Austin Local, was given a SAG-AFTRA membership pin to commemorate his joining. “I realize tonight, I didn’t just join SAG-AFTRA, I joined a family,” he said. “I now have 160,000 new brothers and sisters.”

As the evening came to a close, Koons and Morrison kept the fun going with an after party at the historic Driskill Hotel.

Overall, the viewing party was another great opportunity to note the importance of our community and our ability to support fellow performers and increase work in the region.
