Lyric Opera Orchestra Labor Rally

The Lyric Opera musicians, who are members of the Chicago Federation of Musicians, need your help. Lyric Opera is demanding radical cuts that would decimate the Orchestra and forever diminish Lyric Opera of Chicago. Join them for a rally at Daley Plaza in Chicago on Friday to let the Lyric Opera know that a world-class opera company needs a world-class orchestra.

Enjoy a spooky evening with the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Senior Radio Players, Oct. 11

SAG-AFTRA member Tim Dadabo is back, this time with a partner in crime, Kevin Theis, to take the mystery out of recording voiceover from home. 

In our last series, we covered what’s needed to record from home. This time, Dadabo and Theis will cover setup and recording with your software. Dadabo will cover setting up and using Twisted Wave, Theis will cover setting up and using Audacity. 
 
If your equipment is mobile (I/O boxes, USB or “regular” mics, and laptops or tablets) please bring that equipment with you. In an effort to give fair time to all, please make sure your software is installed and working properly, as we will not have time to walk you through that process.

Chicago Commercials W&W Meeting, Oct. 25

SAG-AFTRA is inviting all members who work the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract and SAG-AFTRA Audio Commercials Contract (“Commercials Contracts”) to the upcoming Chicago Local Wages and Working (W&W) Conditions Committee meeting.

The Commercials Contracts expire on March 31, 2019 – join your fellow members to discuss issues you’d like to see addressed in the upcoming Commercials Contracts negotiations. Your participation is vital!

Attention members who are actively producing: SAG-AFTRA members who are actively producing cannot attend the W&W Committee meetings due to conflict of interest. 

If you cannot attend a W&W meeting, please make sure your voice is heard. You may submit proposal recommendations by email at commercialsw&w@sagaftra.org. Recommendations must be received by Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. All recommended proposals will be reviewed by the W&W Conditions Committee.

W&W Committee meetings are only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing — no guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. Participation is limited only by fire department regulations. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card (paid through Oct. 31, 2018) for admittance.
