Come learn the basics of editing with the professional post-production software Final Cut Pro. We’ll walk you through how to import your footage, make edits in your timeline, do some simple color correction and sound polishing, add any titles or graphics you’d like and then export the finished project! Whether you want to cut your own self-tapes or start editing your own content we’ll show you how easy it can be to use this powerful software!

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session where you can ask your retirement-related questions.

Please join the President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement for Understanding Residuals for SAG-AFTRA Performers, a presentation and discussion of how members earn TV/Theatrical and New Media residuals through their work on SAG-AFTRA contracts. This presentation will focus on television, theatrical and new media residuals; a presentation on commercials residuals will be scheduled for a later date.

This conversation may be a first for young performers, or a refresher for our more seasoned members. We’ll cover what residuals are, how compensation is paid to performers for use of a theatrical motion picture or television program beyond the use covered by initial compensation, when residuals are paid, how residuals are calculated, how to track them and much more.

Vocal warmups, tongue twisters, physical warmups, emotional preparation, getting out of your head and into the scene, improvisation, and more! This workshop is for every actor who may be bored with their preparation and those just entering the world of how to prepare for auditions, callbacks, and filming.

All are welcome to this special New England SAG-AFTRA Conservatory, in collaboration with the Roxbury International Film Festival, and presented by Secret Society of Black Creatives Actors Forum members, and SAG-AFTRA members David J. Curtis, Liz Eng, Naheem Garcia and Andrea Lyman.
