SAG-AFTRA gives back! The Washington-Mid Atlantic Local of SAG-AFTRA will be hosting a Blood Drive in the DMV area on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 11:30 am-5:00 pm ET at the Montgomery County Chapter House at 2020 East West Highway, Silver Spring, MD. This is an amazing opportunity to save some lives, while hanging with your fellow SAG-AFTRA members and friends.

Please join your Washington-Mid Atlantic SAG-AFTRA siblings in solidarity on Thursday, September 28, 2023, for an informational leafleting event at Disney Government Affairs Office in Washington, D.C.  Disney and its subsidiaries are responsible for producing a variety of well known productions. SAG-AFTRA members, along with labor movement kin and allies, will be gathering together in support of our rights, our livelihoods and our futures! We want to make sure that Disney, along with the other major studios and streamers, understands that the AMPTP is refusing to negotiate a fair deal with our members.

Please join Grassroots Comedy for an evening of stand-up comedy that will be sure to tickle your funny bone while tickling your hearts. The event will feature some of the best comedians in the Washington-Mid Atlantic area. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation for their emergency financial assistance program. To learn more about Grassroots Comedy, click HERE.

Please join your local labor siblings, labor activists, industry partners, and special guests at the AFL-CIO's Northern Virginia Labor Federation's Labor Day Picnic on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from noon to 3 p.m. ET. There will be food, games for kids, Hawaiian shaved ice, balloon animals, live music, and plenty of other fun Labor Day activities. There will also be special apperances by U.S. Sentator Tim Kaine, U.S. Representative Don Beyer, and AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler who will be joining other local labor leaders.  

The event will start at noon at Pavilion A in Fort Hunt Park. Parking is provided at the park.

We will be gathering indoors at the IATSE Local 487 office at 2301 Russell St, Baltimore, MD, 21230. 

Limited parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the IATSE Local 487 office or street parking in the community. Ride sharing is encouraged.

Amazon’s studio, Amazon Prime, is responsible for producing a variety of very well known productions. SAG-AFTRA members, along with labor movement kin and allies, will be gathering together in support of our rights, our livelihoods and our futures! We want to make sure Amazon, along with the other major studios and streamers, understands that the AMPTP is refusing to negotiate a fair deal with our members, including the very people appearing in the  Amazon Prime Original series.

SAG-AFTRA will be leafleting Amazon HQ2 in three shifts. Please RSVP to one (1) shift. The other times are 8:00-11:00AM and 11:00-3:00PM. 

When you arrive, please sign in with designated SAG-AFTRA staff. We have a limited amount of SAG-AFTRA STRONG T-shirts for SAG-AFTRA members which will be handed out to members on a first come first serve basis.
