Worldwide Flight Attendant Day of Action and SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic Solidarity Day

Where: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport - Terminal 2, Ticketing level, North Terrace (2401 Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Access Rd, Arlington, VA 22202)

Please join us at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as we gather together in support of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) on "Worldwide Flight Attendant Day of Action." The picket event will be in conjunction with several transportation and airline unions including APFA, AFA, TWA, AFGE, and many more allied union groups. Please wear your SAG-AFTRA gear (but please do not wear a SAG-AFTRA strike shirt). 

To get to the event, we recommend taking the blue or yellow metro lines to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Additionally, parking can be found in the nearby airport lots.

Washington-Mid Atlantic SAG Awards Party

Feb 24, 2024 - 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM EST

Where: Crooked Crab Brewing Company, 8251 Telegraph Rd Suite D, Odenton, MD 21113

Please join your fellow Washington Mid-Atlantic SAG-AFTRA members for screening of the 30th Annual SAG Awards at the Crooked Crab in Odenton, Maryland. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the pre-show starts at 7 p.m.. The attire is festive/casual to cocktail.

Admission is free for members. Additionally, members can bring one guest. 

A drink ticket will be provided to each attendee, and a no-host bar will be available. Food is available for purchase.

Washington-Mid Atlantic Day of Service with the Rock Creek Conservancy

Where: Picnic Grove #1 (Near Peirce Mill and 3998 Spring of Freedom St NW, Washington, DC 20008)

Join the Washington-Mid Atlantic NextGen Committee and your fellow SAG-AFTRA members on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 15, 2024) for a Day of Service at Picnic Grove #1 in Rock Creek Park (Near Peirce Mill and 3998 Spring of Freedom St NW, Washington, D.C, 20008). We will be working with the Rock Creek Conservancy, the National Park Service, and Blue Planet Scuba for a litter removal restoration event in Rock Creek Park. Trash is the visible form of stormwater pollution, a major threat to water quality and park health and its removal makes the parklands cleaner, safer, and more beautiful for all.

Please dress appropriately for the work and weather. They recommend wearing sturdy boots or sneakers and long layers, including pants and long sleeves. They also recommend bringing water, and snacks if desired. Tools and supplies will be provided. Please bring your own gloves if you have them. 

Event location, directions, and information will be sent from the Rock Creek Conservancy event leader 24 hours prior to the event.

WMA Leaflet at Disney Government Relations

Please join your Washington-Mid Atlantic SAG-AFTRA siblings in solidarity on Thursday, November 2, 2023, for an informational leafleting event at Disney Government Affairs Office in Washington, D.C. We will meet at 3rd street SW and E Street SW. Disney and its subsidiaries are responsible for producing a variety of well known productions. SAG-AFTRA members, along with labor movement kin and allies, will be gathering together in support of our rights, our livlihoods and our futures!

Washington-Mid Atlantic Virtual Membership Meeting

Join your fellow SAG-AFTRA members for the November 2023 Washington-Mid Atlantic Local Virtual Membership Meeting to hear about the latest news and updates.

The meeting will be followed immediately by a discussion with Jane Love, National Director, Audiobooks, and Richard Larkin, Executive Director/Labor Counsel, News and Broadcast. Jane and Richard will discuss all things Audiobooks, how members can best utilize the Union to get into the exciting world of Audiobooks, as well as answer any questions members might have. Please come prepared with questions for Jane and Richard.

Members will have the opputunity to learn and ask questions of elected representatives and staff. We hope to see you there!

SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic Day of Service at DC Central Kitchen

Join your fellow SAG-AFTRA members on Friday, November 17 for a SAG-AFTRA Day of Service at the DC Central Kitchen in Washington, D.C (Klein Center, 2121 First Street SW, Washington, DC 20024). We will be volunteering alongside DC Central Kitchen's devoted front-line staff and Culinary Job Training Students to cut, chop, peel and prep fresh produce as we prepare balanced meals for our community. No cooking or food service experience required!

Volunteers are asked to check-in at 8:45AM. The volunteer shift begins at 9:AM and ends at 12:00PM.

RSVP: Reservations are required. Please complete the form below to RSVP; you must be logged in to RSVP. You will be provided information on registering as a volunteer with the DC Central Kitchen, suggested transportation/parking, and dress code after you have registered.

UAW SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic Solidarity Day, 9/29

Where: 80 Tyson Drive, Winchester, Virginia

Please join us on the picket line at the Stellantis Distribution Center with the UAW Local 946 brothers and sisters in support of their effort for a fair contract. Please wear your SAG-AFTRA shirt if you have one. There will also be a limited number of SAG-AFTRA shirts for members at the event. There will be parking at the plant.

Local 946 is on strike from 6:00AM to 12:00AM until they get a fair contract and welcomes all supporters.
