LA Film Society Guidelines for Members and Guests

RULES AND REGULATIONS

In order to maintain the pleasant movie-going atmosphere that has become a SAG-AFTRA Film Society (SAFS) tradition, members are asked to follow these simple rules reflecting common sense and courtesy:

GENERAL RULES

1. Membership in SAFS is only available to active SAG-AFTRA members in good standing. If your SAG-AFTRA membership becomes inactive or if you wish to cancel your membership, the balance of your Film Society membership fee will be refunded. (All refunds must be requested in writing by Dec. 31.)
2. No soliciting of Q&A participants is permitted. Soliciting includes any attempt to distribute headshots, reels, business cards, scripts, etc. Photograph and autograph-seeking requests from Q&A participants is also strictly prohibited.
3. As a courtesy to invited guests, SAFS members and guests are expected to stay for the duration of any event that includes a Q&A. Please do not RSVP for unless you plan to stay for the Q&A.
4. Members and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting members of SAFS and SAG-AFTRA. And remember, you are responsible for the conduct of your guests.
5. Your membership may be suspended/ terminated by SAFS for violations of rules. The cancellation procedure is as follows:
6. The member shall be notified in writing that his/her Film Society membership is being suspended/ terminated and the grounds for the decision.
7. SAFS Committee decisions are final.

If you do not wish to abide by these regulations, we request that you cancel your membership. Our goal is to make each screening as pleasant a movie-going experience as possible for all members.

CHECK IN

1. Members and guests must show valid photo ID upon request from staff.
2. SAFS may screen films that include content intended for mature audiences. SAFS members and guests must be at least 13 years of age and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.
3. Members and guests must enter the theater together. Members are not permitted to save seats for friends.
4. SAFS reserves the right to refuse admission or service to anyone.
5. Membership in SAFS is not transferable.
6. Members are responsible for the use of their SAFS cards. Prevent unauthorized use of your card by keeping it in a safe place. If someone else uses your card, your membership will be cancelled.
7. No one with a main theater lobby pass will be admitted to the second theater until all members with unscanned SAFS cards have been seated. (Lobby passes will not be accepted for re-entry to either theater once the film has started.)
8. Any attempt to solicit members to bring you or your guests into the theater will be considered a violation of SAFS rules. This will result in the cancellation of SAFS memberships of all persons involved.

ON DIRECTORS GUILD OF AMERICA (DGA) PROPERTY

1. Smoking, soliciting, or leafleting are not permitted.
2. Verbal abuse of DGA or SAG-AFTRA staff will not be tolerated.
3. Cameras, recording devices, food, beverages and candy are prohibited.
4. No photography, including “selfies,” or audio/video recording is permitted under any circumstances.
5. Once the houselights dim, conversations must end and cellular phones and electronic devices must be turned off completely until the movie is finished.
6. Messaging and texting during screenings is not permitted.
7. As a courtesy to your fellow performers, please remain seated until after the final credits roll and the houselights come up.
8. As a condition of admittance to the DGA, members and guests consent to a search of their vehicle, belongings, and person.

PARKING

Secured parking for screenings is available at the DGA Theatre for $9 at the gate. Exact change is preferred to avoid delays. SAG-AFTRA has made arrangements to provide complimentary parking at the DGA, based on availability, to SAG-AFTRA Film Society members that have current DMV-issued Disable Parking Placards

DGA PARKING LOT

1. Please obey all signage when entering and exiting the DGA parking structures.
2. When exiting the west DGA parking structure, members must adhere to the “No Right Turn” directional signage.
3. The DGA parking structure and the theater doors open 45 minutes prior to all scheduled screenings. Members should not attempt to enter the parking lot prior to this time. The City of West Hollywood will cite vehicles that line up early and impede traffic flow.
4. The parking structure closes five minutes prior to scheduled screening times.
5. Entrances to the DGA parking garages are on Hayworth Avenue, south of Sunset.
6. Members and guests should not park in nearby residential or permit parking areas unless they have a valid permit to do so.
7. SAG-AFTRA Film Society members and their guests who fail to comply with the parking rules risk the cancellation of their membership.

SEASON PARKING PASSES
SAFS members can purchase an All-Season Parking Pass for $60 which is valid only for the current season and is not refundable.

1. Season passes must be purchased in advance and can only be purchased from the cashiers window at the SAG-AFTRA Membership Office. Payment can be made by checks, cash, credit cards or money orders.
2. SAFS office cannot replace a lost or stolen season parking pass.
3. Season passes will go on sale at the cashiers window (in the Membership lobby) beginning Monday, Sept. 17.
4. There are no refunds for parking orders, so please purchase just what you need.

PARKING COUPONS
SAFS members can purchase parking coupons which are valid only for the current season and are not refundable.

1. A book of 5 parking coupons can be purchased for $16.
2. Parking coupons must be purchased in advance and can only be purchased from the cashiers window at the SAG-AFTRA Membership Office. Payment can be made by checks, cash, credit cards or money orders.
3. SAFS office cannot replace lost or stolen parking coupons.
4. Coupons will go on sale at the cashiers window (in the Membership lobby) beginning Sept. 9th.
5. There are no refunds for parking orders, so please purchase just what you need.

EXTRA GUEST PASSES

Guest passes are only available for specific films.

1. Extra guest passes cost $10 per guest. Purchase limit is two per member. Each pass admits one guest.
2. Please check email notices or hotline to confirm if extra guest passes will be accepted for particular film title.
3. When available, guest passes can only be purchased from the cashiers window at the SAG-AFTRA Membership Office. Payment can be made by checks, cash, credit cards or money orders.
4. Extra guest passes are not refundable and they expire at the end of the season.

Members who bring unpaid extra guests to the theater will be fined $17.50 per extra guest. A second occurrence will result in the cancellation of their SAFS membership.
