May 1 is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, and to recognize the saint, a well-recognized figure representing the dignity of work, members across several Philadelphia local unions attended a morning mass at Christ the King Church in Haddonfield, NJ.

The mass was led by Friar Jon Thomas, who, although currently assigned to Christ the King Church in Haddonfield, New Jersey, has previously presided over a citywide mass at the Parish of Saint Monica with Unite Here Local 54 and the New Jersey AFL-CIO. SAG-AFTRA Philadelphia Local President Nicole Izanec proclaimed labor-oriented readings during the mass and a labor-themed homily was preached. Each union and local in attendance at the assembly was also acknowledged by the congregation, among them IAFF Local 2663.
