Spotlight on Casting at Membership Meeting

At the annual New Orleans Local membership meeting, held Nov. 16, 2023, IATSE Local 478 opened with an illuminating Q&A session with esteemed casting professionals Brent Caballero, Liz Coulon, Ryan Glorioso and Meagan Lewis delving into key industry topics. Attendees gained valuable insights into their decision-making processes, got information on the return to in-person auditions, and received practical advice on optimizing submissions. 

Following the panel discussion, Local President Jim Gleason introduced local elected leaders and gave a report on local activities. National Board member Diana Boylston shared key insights at the national level and staff member Lisha Brock shared helpful union information. The evening concluded with a significant discussion on the end of the strike and a toast to the tentative agreement. The intersection of casting professionals, new local leadership, national updates and a celebration of union solidarity made this annual meeting a comprehensive event for all attendees.
